I may appear calm and serene when I deliver the bouquets on the morning of a wedding, but, occasionally, like this morning, being a working mother can be a tad stressful!
As I could not arrange a sitter for Junior this morning, I decided to be effecient, after making up a christmas wreath in the workshop last night, I gathered up everything that I would need to do the bridal work from home this morning, therefore, could have Junior safely ensconced infront of Mickey Mouse’s Clubhouse on the telly with his toast and juice while I carry on with work in the Kitchen.
And so, I have the individual ivy leaves washed and wired, the lillies for the buttonholes trimmed and wired, the lillies for the bouquets sorted into groupings for bouquets and I realise that I’ve left the ribbons for the bouquets and the wrapping (known as gutta tape) for the buttonholes in the office!
Junior is unceremoniously whipped from in front of the telly, into a coat and into the pram (on our road, it’s quicker to walk to the office than drive in the morning!) ran around as quick as I could, picked up what I needed, ran back around, finished everything off (and they turned out lovely) Aunt arrives down to mind Jnr while I deliver and we’re off – delivered to a very happy bride who was thrilled with her bouquets and her gorgeous daughter who just loved her mini version of her mum’s bouquet.
Lesson’s learnt? Remember the ribbons!!
